Can I afford this?
Its not uncommon for home owners to mistakenly assume that because the concrete edging is professionally installed it is prohibitively expensive. This is certainly not the case! When taking into account the time, labor, and expense of do-it-yourself methods, having your landscape curbing project installed by professionals who have the equipment and knowledge to do the job quickly, and right the first time, is certainly cost effective.
How is the cost of landscape curbing determined?
Curbing is billed by the linear foot and other Additional costs that are specific to each project. It is our standard practice to only charge for the actual amount installed. We don't feel its a good business practice to charge customers extra or for more than they are actually getting. It's the right thing to do and it just makes sense.
Do you have a minimum fee or minimum footage?
Yes, we have a $950 minimum.
Will the concrete crack?
All concrete over time will eventually develop some cracking. To minimize and control cracking, we use high quality products and add reinforcing polymer fibers directly into the concrete mixture for added strength. We also cut control expansion joints into the curbing approximately every 32 - 36 inches depending on the design.
Will you need to build forms to pour the concrete?
No. The curb is extruded into place by a special concrete extruding machine. The operator steers the machine to create straight runs, circles, and curves allowing nearly unlimited design flexibility.
How long will installation take?
Depending on the layout, design, style, required preparation work and amount of the curbing and or size of the project to be installed, most jobs can be completed in one day.
I’m not sure exactly where the curb should go. Can you help with design?
Absolutely! Although your imagination is the limit, our experience often enables us to see possibilities that you might miss. We will be happy to listen to your ideas and make suggestions to improve not only the appearance of your landscaping, but also to make maintenance simpler.
Will the curbing color fade?
The pigments we use are light fast and UV stable. However, some fading can and may occur over time, but this is natural for any outdoor color application, especially in the harsh Florida sun. We do apply a UV-protectant sealant during the installation to minimize against fading.
What are my color choices?
We have over base 30 colors and several accent colors to choose from. We use an integral base color which is added while the cement is mixing. This is not a dye or stain, but rather an iron oxide pigment that produces solid coloring all the way through the concrete. Should the curbing ever become chipped, there will never be unsightly gray concrete showing through.
Will my yard be a mess?
No. There will be no heavy equipment or concrete trucks on your property. Some minimal amounts of sand and small pieces of concrete will be leftover after installation is complete, however most of this will wash out during the next rainfall. We do our best to ensure your home or business will be left looking just as good as when we arrived!
